Do you want to be serious about prayer?

Bacon, Eggs, Sausage, Waffles, Pancakes, French toast, Cereal, Biscuits and Gravy, OJ, Chocolate Milk, Coffee, Bananas, Oatmeal, Grits, Omelets, Toast and Jelly….

Think of it. If you had that at your fingertips everyday for breakfast your day would go so much better than usual. “Students who regularly eat breakfast think faster, clearer, solve problems more easily, and are less likely to be irritable.” (Drdaveanddee.com) So, would your grades get better? I think that has to do with studying.

But…What if you never ate breakfast? Imagine every morning you get up and, after getting dressed and ready for the day, went downstairs and out the door, got in your car and drove off? No breakfast? How sad. Did I forget to mention that on the way out the door you passed a table with all the food listed above already laid out, hot, and waiting to be eaten? Well there is. It’s called prayer and every day we go without it we starve our souls.

“Give ear to my words, O LORD, consider my sighing. Listen to my cry for help, my King and my God, for to you I pray. In the morning, O LORD, you hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before you and wait in expectation.” (Psalm 5:1-3)

Breakfast is good for you but Prayer is even better. Not so much in the abstract idea (or lie) that you will be a better person, but in the fact that you will participate in, and see, God working in, changing, healing, leading, saving, and providing for people. God is waiting to talk to you and prayer breakfast is one way to establish that connection.

So will you join us? Don’t come expecting a great feast of food, rather, come expecting to talk to God. We will have plenty of food to get you going, but the purpose is to pray and that will be where we invest out hearts and time.

Wednesday Mornings 7:30-8:30
Youth prayer room downstairs. Bring $2.
We will be done in plenty of time to get to school
