The IMPACT ministry looks to meet the physical needs of our neighbors in the Chapin community. In conjunction with the organization Good Works, we identify projects to complete during the course of the year. No experience is necessary - only a desire to serve others. Saturday May 3  
On this day, we will meet at the church at 7:30 am for breakfast and then head to the project sites.

Donnell & Rebecca Hall, 530 Westwood Drive, 945-0053
Both husband and wife work at the Loman Home. Donnell sings gospel music in a quartet at his church. (They would love to come sing at ours). They live in a “doublewide” mobile home that is in pretty good shape. They had a leak in the bathroom so the subfloor needs replaced. Donnell has allergies and they have some dirty old carpet throughout most of the house that they would like us to replace with vinyl flooring. The home has settled and is keeping some of the doors from operating properly. The front steps have also settled and are leaning away from the house. The outside needs power washing.

Andre & Tina Dreer (live right next door on the same property)
This couple lives in a “singlewide” mobile home that is also in good shape. Andre is having some problems with one of his feet that causes his whole leg swell-up (painful). Otherwise, they seem to be doing OK. I think that Tina is the daughter of Ruby Dreer (see below). That’s all we know about them right now. They said that the heat was not working very well. They also have no underpinning and the front steps are leaning away from the house.

Week-long Project in October

Gary and Ruby Dreer, 532 Westwood Drive, 345-1267
Gary has been a maintenance man for Lex/Rich School District 5 for about 20 years. His wife was at work so we did not get a chance to meet her. Gary recently had a heart attack that he has recovered from. They live in a Jim Walters Home that is a mirror image of Ms. Bowers house, except it is in much better shape. They need a complete Kitchen renovation like we did for Mrs. Bowers. They also need paint and carpet throughout the house, a new wall liner in shower, a new front door, and repair work to front steps.
